Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 May 2026 · Effective from launch date
1. Who We Are
DAGRISOL (Pty) Ltd and its DAGRICON marketplace ("we", "us", "our") operate the DAGRISOL farm management platform and the DAGRICON contractor network (collectively, "the Platforms"). We are registered in South Africa and comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and, where applicable, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Questions about this policy can be directed to our Information Officer at info@dagrisol.co.za.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways:
- Information you give us directly — registration details (name, email, phone number, farm or business name), profile information, job postings, contract details, and any messages sent through the platform. Subscription payments are handled by our payment provider: we never see or store your card details.
- Information a farmer enters about their workers — where a farmer uses DAGRISOL to manage staff, they may record a worker's name, role, contact number, email, home address, salary, emergency contact and a login PIN.
- Worker clock-in location — if a farmer enables the Time Clock for a worker, the app records the GPS coordinates and time each time that worker clocks in or out, and whether they were inside the work zone the farmer drew on the map. This is location-based employee monitoring. Location is captured only at the moment the worker taps clock-in or clock-out — workers are not tracked continuously.
- Farm and field boundaries — the GPS outlines a farmer draws on the map for their farm, fields and clock-in zones.
- Information collected automatically — IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, time spent, clicks, and crash reports. This helps us improve reliability and security. If you enable notifications, we also store a push-notification subscription for your device.
3. How We Use Your Information
We process your personal information for the following purposes:
- Creating and managing your account on DAGRISOL and/or DAGRICON
- Matching farmers with relevant contractors and vice versa
- Facilitating job postings, applications and connections between farmers and contractors (payment for the work itself is arranged directly between them, not through us)
- Recording time and attendance where a farmer has enabled the Time Clock, and showing those records to that farmer
- Sending transactional emails (booking confirmations, invoices, rating requests)
- Improving the platforms through aggregated, anonymised analytics
- Complying with legal obligations, including tax and financial record-keeping
- Detecting fraud, abuse, or security incidents
We will only send you marketing communications if you have opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- With other platform users — farmers can see contractor profiles (ratings, services, location) and contractors can see farm details necessary to quote on a job. You control what is visible in your profile settings.
- With service providers — we rely on a small number of trusted providers who process data on our behalf: cloud hosting and database providers, mapping and location services, weather and location-lookup services, notification delivery services, and a secure payment provider. They are contractually bound to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.
- For legal reasons — we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of DAGRISOL, our users, or the public.
- In a business transfer — if DAGRISOL is acquired or merges with another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you in advance.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide services and meet legal obligations. Account data is typically retained for 5 years after account closure for financial record-keeping purposes. You may request earlier deletion — see Section 7.
6. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, role-based access controls, and regular security audits. No system is perfectly secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor authentication when available.
7. Your Rights
Under POPIA (and GDPR where applicable) you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correct — ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete — request deletion of your account and associated data
- Object — opt out of processing for marketing or certain other purposes
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Lodge a complaint — contact the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za
To exercise any of these rights, email info@dagrisol.co.za. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some platform features may not function correctly if you do.
9. Children
The Platforms are intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us immediately and we will delete the account.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email at least 30 days before any material change takes effect. Continued use of the Platforms after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
